This book starts out as a nursery rhyme many of the readers should recognize but after the first page Eve Bunting books her own twist on the book. The furry animals are playing all sorts of instruments and puts you in the seat as the audience. The animals are introduced with funny rhymes and you wonder what will happen next. I suggest reading this book to younger kids because they would stay engaged with the humor in the book and the bright colors. In the end you find out that the whole time the animals are in a music box and the child playing with it is winding it up for fun and music. This would be a great book for kids just learning to read or first time studying poetry. The animals in the book play all sorts of instruments and I think this is a learning opportunity to show kids anyone can do anything with practice and hard work. ( )
