With enchanting photos, intimate stories, quotations, and personal remembrances, this charming, best-selling volume makes a Mother's Day gift Mom will treasure forever. Nothing equals the magical, spiritual, and sometimes mystical bond between mother and child--and this popular keepsake and gift book (100,000 sold in its first edition) celebrates that timeless love in poetry, prose, photos, and art. Every page offers something of beauty, be it a vintage photograph, reproduction of a fine painting, (such as Mary Cassatt's "Maternal Caress"), or moving words by some of the world's best writers. Moms everywhere will enjoy recording their own personal thoughts on special lined pages, and poring through sections devoted to such subjects as Mother's Gifts, Children, Home, Legacy, Shared Moments, and Generations. Among the authors addressing the richness of motherhood: Eudora Welty, Margaret Atwood, Charles Dickens, Marcel Proust, Simone de Beauvoir, and more.… (mais)

Victoria Magazine is (if it is still being published) a woman's magazine
with pictures, poems, photographs, and gives a real feel for the 19th century idealized Victorian life. A lot of pink and flowers. This little book includes selections from the magazine and is probably intended as a Mothers Day gift book for a mother with places to personalize with lines about the reader's own "thoughts on becoming a mother", "The house where I was born"and "family pets".A truly lovely little book.
