Gordon Fee's popular commentary on Revelation contains no shortage of insightful vignettes. However, reading it has been a distinctly unsatisfying experience, in that Fee maintains his comments at a facile level. He reiterates his marvels at John's (Revelation's author) literary skills at various points, probably more frequent than the word "marvel" denotes. Yet, at critical areas and on more controversial subjects (such as the thousand years in Ch. 20), Fee is rather reticent in providing definite answers. Still, one would take assuring comfort from an eminent Biblical scholar as Fee for his penchant use of colocation "almost certainly".
