"It is said that opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son--and enforcer--of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant Alpha. While Anna, an Omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind. Now that the werewolves have revealed themselves to humans, they can't afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father's dirty work is taking a toll on Charles. Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston when the FBI requests the pack's help on a local serial-killer case. They quickly realize that the last two victims were werewolves, and identify others originally thought humans as fae. Someone is targeting the preternatural. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer's sights.."--… (mais)

Just as good as the first time. I originally read this book, but this go round I picked up the audiobook and loved it. Wasn't sure on the male narrator, but WOW was he good. Brought everyone to life. I just loved the mystery and the personal struggles Anna & Charles have. ( )

Fair Game is by far my favorite in the Alpha & Omega series. I read this back in 2012 and listened to the audiobook in 2017.

Fair Game has the perfect blend of action, character development, and romance. This novel opened up the door to other supernatural creatures. We see Anna and Charles get involved with a human FBI member and others to solve the murders happening.

Anna has changed and gown since the beginning of the series. She’s slowly developing into a strong women/werewolf as she begins to realize her worth. Charles is a favorite character, I just love reading about him and I love how narrator Holter Graham brings Charles to life. Just having both Anna and Charles POV was great. We are showing that he issn’t the monster everyone thinks he is and Anna can take charge of a situation and stand tall now that she is more comfortable in her skin.

The plot is strong and the setting is fantastic. Briggs blends action and romance splendidly. What I enjoy is how blended everything is and I also enjoy that Briggs doesn’t over do the romance scenes. She has just the right amount and makes them count.

Aug. 2017 Audio Listen: I really love Narrator Holter Graham. He does s superb job narrating the Alpha & Omega series. He is perfect for the characters and his voice is wonderful to hear. He brings the characters to life. It’s wonderful!! Just listening to this audiobook for Fair Game made me want to try out my favorite series by Briggs, the Mercy Thomson series, in audio. As for Fair Game it was amazing and it felt like the first time reading!

Fair Game is undoubtedly a strong novel in the Alpha & Omega series. I adore Briggs writing and loved Holter’s narration. I highly recommend the Alpha & Omega series as well as the Mercy Thompson series. Both are wonderful reads!!

Rated: 5 Stars

Did it again, thought I had the first book of the series not the middle one....oops.

At any rate having read the Mercy Thompson series I knew of Charles and Anna so I wasn't completely lost about who they are and what they do.

I like these two together. As his father's enforcer Charles has taken many lives and settled many grievances, he has the ghosts haunting him to prove it. Anna is a rare Omega and the perfect partner for Charles. She can settle folks down, get them to cooperate with her and gets Charles to loosen up.

Their are murders going on in Boston that the government doesn't understand. They originally wanted Adam Hauptman, Mercy Thompson's mate and alpha wolf, to be the consultant for the wolves but Mercy was recently injured and Adam will not leave her side. Both Anna and Bran, his father, feel this might be good for Charles as they know something is on his mind but he's not letting anyone close enough to find out what's going on.

The government agents are for the most part trying to keep an open mind and maybe learn a thing or two. We get to see the wolves work with fae and witches. Charles gets to do a little magic. (He's a rare case in that he was born a werewolf and not "changed" into on. He also has some spirit of shaman and witch magic running through him. Talk about a triple threat.)

In this the group rescues a fae's human daughter from a trio of men who think the government isn't doing enough to rid the planet of the evil that are wolves, fae and witches. Turns out daddy is one of the fae's High Lords. At the end something happens that makes this lord very angry and when he makes a statement...DAMN, no getting away from that scene. (It does explain why in the MT series all the fae have voluntarily retreated to their reservations)

Good story. Love these characters as much as I love Mercy, Adam and their gang. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Maybe even do it in order...lol.

Somehow my review and rating is gone, so my review won't be as detailed as before.

This is the third book in the series and I loved it. From what I remember this shows the hardships that Charles is facing, after the werewolves have been outed. He is the enforcer and has been been working too much in doing his job. Anna can see what a toll it is taking out of him and is extremely worried about him.

Anna does somewhat convince Bran to have Charles do something else for a bit, so they are both sent to Boston to meet with the FBI about some murders involving the werewolves.

This book showed some of the struggles that Anna and Charles relationship is going through since Charles won't let Anna in. I loved reading about Charles struggles and the growth him and Anna go through in this book.

This book sets up some big stuff that will be going down in future books.

Fair Game is the 3rd book in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. If you want to read these books in order and have not started them yet, I would recommend starting with the short story titled Alpha and Omega in the book On the Prowl.

Charles is the enforcer and son for the leader of the North American Werewolves. It is a job that has changed dramaticlaly now that werewolves have come out to the public. Charles is becoming conflicted about enforcing new rules and expectations of werewolves everywhere. When his mate, Anna, is sent to help law enforcement find a serial killer that is now murdering werewolves he finds himself dangerously close to the edge. Anna is an Omega and can calm the wolf inside. Can Anna convince Charles to let her help when it is the man that is in trouble?

I really liked Fair Game. The deepening of the story line to this whole world has me craving the next book (don’t want to give spoilers so I really cannot say more). Anna has grown as a character and it great seeing her keep everyone in check. The story flowed very well and the ending was great! I would recommend reading this series in order, although I do think that Fair Game could be read interdependently as well.
