Kate and Jim McMullan have made a variety of books with the title, "I'm _____!" wih adjectives ranging from "big" to "brave" to "smart". I thought this was interesting because I believe you can BE anything with the right encouragement to allow your dreams to grow. The illustrations are fun and give a fun resemblence of youth. The dinosaur in "I'm Big!" has lost his herd and, while searching for them, he is chased by some carnivores. At first, he sees his size as a problem, but then he realizes that he is big and he stands up for himself (I'm not sure how well this would have worked in the Jurassic Era though). In the end, he finds his herd and they walk into the sunset together. ( )

A sweet dinosaur lost his herd and needs help finding them. This book is a good source for children to learn some tier 2 and 3 words. ( )

This sauropod was very large and he was lost from his heard. I read this book to Brayden and he couldn't stop pointing at the pictures of the dinosaur. He kept saying "RAWR!" over and over again. The illustrations were adorable and were very appealing. ( )

In my opinion, this is a good book for young children. I liked how the author had different size font for particular words. I also enjoyed the onomatopoeia words such as "BOOM, BOOM, BOOM" and "Awkk" which is appealing to young children. Second, I liked how this book encouraged problem-solving. This book pushes readers to think about tough situations such as how they would get away from the predators. The text also engages readers to respond to the situation by asking questions. Overall, this book is a great children's book and teaches them about standing up for themselves. ( )
