The first day the mom left, the kitten cried very loudly. This made me think that the kitten has separation anxiety. As the days went on, the mom left for about 10-20 mins and came back. Slowly, this prepared the kitten to let her mom leave for a whole day. I would not read this to my older kids and maybe just stick it to kindergarten. While it is a very cute, heart-warming story, the saying "moms always come back" may be too much for some kids to hear. Nowadays, some kids may hear their mom or dad saying they are going to come back and never do. This can lead to trust issues. ( ) "Mama, Don't Go" such a lovely and sweet book. It tells the story of a kitty named Yoko who doesn't want her mother to leave when she goes to kindergarten. Yoko is worried her mother will not come back. Eventually, withe the help of her new friend, Yoko learns that her mother will come back, and her mother does. This is a sweet book that relates to many children's separation anxiety and their mother leaving them. I think this is a great book for children that struggle with this problem. They will love the story and the beautiful and fun illustrations of the animals. I would love to read this book to my students some day, so they also know if they're sad about their parent leaving them at school, they will always come back at the end of the day. Another book by Rosemary Wells and another good one at that. Mama, Don't Go is about Yoko who is attending school and her mom must go to school with her because she does not want to be away from her. Yoko is a very special character and she reminds me of when I first attended school and did not want to be separated from her. I felt bad for her and her other classmates because Yoko cried when her mom would go away. The pictures in the book are okay but must of them tend not to follow what the author is writing which can confuse someone who is new to the School Day Series. All in all, this book is still good and it will leave the reader with a sense of nostalgia when they first went to school. This is a story about a little girl named Yoko who was very excited about going to her first day of school. She could not wait to do things such as make new friends and learn the "Falling Leaves" song. The only problem was that she was not quite ready for her mother to leave her at school because she feared that she would not return. Several days went by and Yoko would still cry and beg her mother to stay with her in Mrs. Jenkin's classroom. Yoko's mother began to leave the classroom in short lengths in order to gradually get Yoko used to the idea. One day, Mrs. Jenkins asked if there were any birthdays in the classroom; Yoko’s mother raised her hand. Yoko asked her mother to leave so that they could all make her a surprise for her. Once her mother left, her new friend Timothy helped her realize that she would be okay because her mother would come back for her. I thought this was a very cute story for children in kingergarten, first grade, and second grade. I thought it would be great to read on the first day of school because it shows the fears and struggles that so many children go through on their first few days of school, including making new friends and gaining independence. Also, it shows the close bonds that so many children have with their mothers. I think that this would be a very good book to read to kindergarteners or pre schoolers on the first day of classes because a lot of them have a hard time letting go of their parents for the entire day of school. This book is very cute and I really liked when the little boy said "don't worry... mothers always come back". sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
