Descrição:
Palazzo Falletti di Barolo (Falletti di Barolo Palace) is an interesting example of noble residence. This palace was built at the end of the sixteen hundreds by Gian Francesco Baroncelli, and it was modified in the mid-seventeen hundreds by Benedetto Alfieri who adapted it to the owners’ rococo taste by decorating the inside with frescoes and friezes. The distinctive ‘scissor’ grand staircase, unlike in other XVII century noble palaces, is placed in the centre. The Palace houses the Opera Pia Barolo (Barolo Charitable Institution), which carries on the charity work started in the eighteen hundreds by the marquise of Barolo Giulia Colbert, who was a descendant of Louis XIV’s renowned Finance Minister.
