Never tried that one but I bet it's good. I think I like the sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce best. I love cranberry sauce mixed with about all the Thanksgiving dishes.

never realized I liked cranberry sauce until I made it fresh with fruit...those rings from the can never did much for the dish!

This year I tried a recipe for cranberry-orange sauce. The orange gave it a little complexity but the cranberry is definitely the stronger flavor.

Stuffing, but it must be the stuffing from my own cookbook. My husband's family's stuffing just doesn't make it with me. :)

Now Christmas is different for us.....we found our family a bit burned out of the Turkey/ham so last year we did steaks with many pasta dishes as a side...my 23 yr son, his wife and my 19 yr daughter have requested the same this year.

Our family has a tradition of having a non-traditional meal on Christmas Day. In past Christmases we have enjoyed soft shell crab, grilled frog legs, Peking duck, Cioppino, and lobster thermidor. We have just started our negotiations over this years Christmas Day treat. My wife wants proscuitto wrapped scallops. My offering is a clam and mussel curry. I guess the children will end up deciding?

I genuinely love turkey and have been cooking an adaptation of Martha Stewart's Turkey 101 for years with great success. It starts with brining beforehand, and one bastes the turkey with a combination of melted butter and wine through a cheesecloth that rests over the breast (and does keep it moist!). I make it other than at Thanksgiving as it is the perfect way to roast turkey and enjoy throughout the year.
