The one thing that never ceases to amaze me about participating in NaNo is how motivated to do everything except write. I always intend to use weekends to get ahead of the curve when I have time, but then end up inventing chores to do instead.
So far, I've cleaned the bathroom (twice) and the kitchen, baked pumpkin bread, laundered every fabric item in my apartment (twice), sorted books for donations, renewed my passport, gone for an oil change, and so on.
Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon, and if so, what do you find yourself doing when avoiding your novels?

Oh, hell yes! So far this month I've done more cleaning than I usually do in a 6-month time period. Mostly, though, I nap.
