Villages around Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow

We're visiting NYC for the first time in October. We're going to take the Metro-North Hudson train up to Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow for the day. I wondered if anyone can suggest any other villages in that area that are good for a quick visit and are along the train line.

Farther up along the Hudson line (but not awfully far) is the little town of Cold Spring, which is really cute and full of antique shops, and faces the famous Academy of West Point (where, for a brief time, Edgar Allan Poe was a cadet), which is on the other side of the river.
Actually, from Dobbs Ferry up, all the towns are lovely. If you are interested, in Irvington you can visit Washington Irving's house. It is a nice area.

I'm unclear- is Sunnyside (Irving's home) in Irvington or Tarrytown? We're going to visit that, and the Sleepy Hollow cemetary and the Old Dutch Cemetary.

Sunnyside is between Irvington and Tarrytown. If you go up Rt.9, which is beautiful, you will see the signs. The Old Dutch Cemetery is well worth visiting (Washington Irving's tomb is in the more modern part), and you will see the site of the old Dutch Bridge, the one crossed by the Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane.
Well worth visiting is Kykuit, the Rockefeller estate. If you google it, you will find the website. The only problem is that you might need reservations.
