Was anyone else totally caught off guard by the overt lesbian overtones in this book? Are they as prevalent in the rest of the series?

The early ones focus more on Rachel managing to live with Ivy without getting killed. Rachel's definitely struggling with her definition of love and how sex fits into it - that struggle has been there from the beginning, but the last two books have addressed it most directly.
It strikes me that the dilemma may go either way - Rachel may decide that she wants to have sex with someone she loves regardless of gender, or Ivy may decide that she can love someone without sex. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
