Why do you think the girl Kim went to help in her street was so aggressive with her?

The girl packed a lot of attitude. Her attitude was like a second skin: grown to keep something out. It didn’t just appear for no reason.

I think the girl is used to being treated roughly and hasn't been able to build any trust. Kim was probably just like her as a young girl.

Looks like she is fighting against the world! A massive chip on her shoulder and major defensiveness.

I agree with all of the comments and again note an ability to empathise displayed by Kim which seems to stem from a sense of fellowship with the girl

Sounds like another child who’s been through the ‘care’ system!

Agree with all of you, she’s built up the hard shell to protect herself. Guessing Kim was a lot like that…

>8 bluebird_: Think Kim can still be like that.
