Hi, i'm having an argument with ChatGPT, and i need some unbiased opinions on who is right.

Chatty says that the Dr Worm song is metaphorical, and I say it's literal but perplexing. Transcript below. I've skipped the part where i suggest that chatty will converge with the Transformers at some point in the future (new thread?). And no, i don't have too much time on my hands, thank you very much. It's a matter of using limited time in the most enriching way.

>New question: How can Dr Worm play the drums, if he is an actual worm? He wouldn't have arms.

"Dr. Worm" is a song by the American alternative rock band They Might Be Giants and the lyrics are known to be playful and nonsensical. The lyrics of the song refers to a worm that is named Dr. Worm and the song describes him as a "thinker" and "drummer" but that is in a metaphorical sense, not in a literal sense, as worms are not capable of playing drums or any other instrument. The song is not meant to be taken seriously and it is not meant to be interpreted as a scientifically accurate representation of worm behavior. It is a clever and creative way to convey a message, and the lyrics are meant to be enjoyed for their humor and playful nature.

>i beg to differ. He thinks he is getting better at the drums.

You are correct that the lyrics of the song "Dr. Worm" imply that the worm character believes he is getting better at playing the drums, but it is still not meant to be taken literally. The worm is a metaphor, and the song's lyrics are using the worm as a playful way of describing someone who is not particularly accomplished or confident, but they keep trying and they believe they are getting better. The song is not meant to be taken literally, and the worm's ability to play drums is not meant to be interpreted as biologically possible, but rather a fanciful concept to express the idea of someone who is not particularly accomplished or confident but, in their own mind, they believe they are getting better.

Hmmm. I know some people who actually talk like that. Maybe they are AI robots.

The Dr Worm song is literal if you believe it is directed at children. Otherwise I'll side with the chat bot and wherever their source came from.

We played that song at our wedding. I vote "literal but perplexing".

His name is Worm. That's why he's a real Worm. He lives like other Worms he knows, and those might be his relatives.

Look, spending time with humans can be enriching, too.

you humans always say that.

He could be a native of the country of Worm, and that's why he's a real worm. The last name could be a coincidence. Or a common last name in the country of Worm.

There's also the possibility of cybernetic appendages. Or virtual reality. Or that he's a Wyrm.

Metaphor my ass.
