Somewhere in my wandering through LT I came across a location where the median book rating was given. Now I can't find where it was. I find this to be more useful than the average.

Go to the author page, and click on Rating statistics on the left.
You can sort on any of the columns, including the title.
Personally, I find the ratings graphic on the work page useful. If the average and the median are both around four, is it because almost everyone has given the book four stars, or have some ones pulled down a bunch of fives? This differs a lot.

>2 MarthaJeanne: I agree. In fact, I often look at the 4 and 5 star ratings, with the emphasis on the 5-star level. I have found that it is incredibly hard to get much over 4 because a small number of 2,3 ratings are difficult to overcome. I often read the 5-star reviews because what they say are things that I can relate to.
