Hello! New here, working from a Motherhouse in Allegany, NY. I was left no instruction on how to add to "Your books". I tried going to the "Add books" tab and looked up the book I am adding and thought it went through, but it's not showing up in "Your Books". What am I doing wrong? Thanks so much for any help!

What was the book, and can you remember exactly the steps you took to add it?
And are you sure you are looking at "All Collections" when you go to "Your Books"? I see a book added yesterday, The Cinderella Murder, by Mary Higgins Clark, in one of the "Untitled Collections". (NOTE: There are several "Untitled Collection"s, only one of which has books in it; you should consider deleting the others.)

Thank you. I will try that. Learning on the fly! It worked when I changed to "All collections". And that was the correct title. Yay!

How do I add a book that is not already on Library Thing? I don't know how to get the cover and add it.
Got it. Thank you MarthaJeanne! I got myself confused about ebook as opposed to hard cover because ebooks have the ASIN identification rather then ISBN but didn't even try it. I need to get a bit more confident! And I will start by entering ISBN, ASIN or title in the future. Thank you for the lesson!

Whether or not it is already on LT doesn't matter. Do NOT start by searching on LT. Start by going to Add Books. Enter the ISBN or title in the 'Add to your books' box, and choose the source you prefer. Overcat is good, as it includes successful searches from library sources.

How do I add the book to my collections? I entered the ISBN and hit the "search" button. My book info shows on the right side of the screen. What do I click on to save the book to my collection? I see an "add manually", and that screen has a save button; however, it will take sooooo much longer to manually add the info for each book. I know I am missing a simple step, but since I am starting the process today, I have not discovered the missing step!

When I search Overcat, a book appears, but my book has a publishing date several years earlier. If I "edit book" am I editing information for other users or only my copy of the book?

>10 nwaspace: The publication date in your edit mode is the date of your own copy only. Everything editable on the Edit screen is your own data only; the catalog view can show both personal and common fields.
