Not quite the same as Feminist Science Fiction, but I figure people here would have good additions.

Octavia Butler 1947-2006 is my favorite woman sci-fi writer. KINDRED is her best book, in my opinion. She liked to write sci-fi because there were no rules.
And she broke a lot of rules- as a black woman sci-fi writer, she got up at 3 am to write before work.
RIP Octavia. Your books live on.

US mathematician Gertrude Friedberg's one and only science fiction novel was The Revolving Boy. It's a mother's view of how children develop human (or superhuman) talents, unique and unforgettable.
