Top Texas Republicans on the ropes after tone-deaf storm response

This is what happens to the brains of people who have been drinking Trump's kool-aid for 4/5 years. Cruz knows he will never be president after the insurrection bid, and he doesn't appear to care about being re-elected again, either. Trumpism has scr*wed with the minds, hearts and souls of 50+m voters and hundreds of thousands of reps.

Well, the Republican assault on competence in government has been going on for decades now. I mean, these are the people who brought you the Katrina debacle, remember?
When you make it your goal to get rid of government, it's not surprising that you create a party that is absolutely incapable of governing.

I wonder how the Republicans expect to win in 2024, now that they've given away Texas...

Were Frozen Wind Turbines in Texas a Major Factor in Power Outages?
Nur Ibrahim | 18 February 2021

Millions of Texans went without heat and electricity as February 2021 snow and an ill-prepared infrastructure resulted in power outages.

Claim
Frozen wind turbines played a major role in Texas power outages as unusually harsh winter storms covered the region in snow and ice in February 2021.

Rating
Mostly False...

What's True
Failures of thermal power generators, which include natural gas, coal, and nuclear power, were responsible for the majority of the power shutdowns across Texas during the February 2021 storms.

What's False
Far from being the main culprit, wind turbine shutdowns accounted for only a fraction of the loss of electricity and power generation.

It turns out ignoring bedrock environmental laws may not have been the best choice for a multibillion-dollar construction project. Photos show former President Donald Trump’s border wall in deep disrepair after summer monsoon rains literally blew floodgates off their hinges.
