Happy New Year!

I had to pick up a new planner from the bookstore, and I accidentally I also got:

Lab Girl by Hope Jahren
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments by Aimee Nezhukumatathil

Jan 9, 9:50am

I had some gift cards to my local independent bookstore, so this week I got:

From a Certain Point of View: 40 Stories Celebrating 40 Years of Star Wars by a variety of authors
The World Doesn't Require You by Rion Amilcar Scott
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

And I got my next book club book from Amazon:

...I may have had a bit of a book-buying spree this month with my (pretty tiny, but still, non-zero!) 2020 bonus 😅
Honeybee: The Busy Life of Apis Mellifera by Candace Fleming
Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron
Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko
Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo
Dictionary of the Khazars (male edition) by Milorad Pavić
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

I found out The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is going to be a movie this year, so I ordered it when I found it for a steal.

On Monday I ordered Why We Can't Wait by Martin Luther Dr. King Jr. after seeing a post that suggested we read everything he wrote instead of just his quotes. Challenge accepted!

Jan 26, 4:42pm

Waiting on my reader this morning, The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon.

Fev 9, 9:47am

I just got The Butterfly Lampshade by Aimee Bender for my book club.

Fev 13, 6:22pm

This "not buying books" thing is absolutely not happening. It needs to.

For my e-reader: the first seven Val McDermid novels on a particular character curve came as one package, so I bought that. And The Book Club by Mary Alice Monroe.

Physical books:
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
I Know why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
The Farming of Bones by Edwidge Danticat

Fev 15, 9:34pm

I just got Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid with a Target gift card I got from my niece for Christmas.

Fev 20, 10:58am

I had Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston on a list of books I want to read in 2021, so when I saw it for $7 on know the rest.

Fev 21, 2:53am

Home by Marilynne Robinson looking forward to a reread.

The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham

Mar 4, 9:45pm

Song of Susannah (The Dark Tower VI) by Stephen King
The Scent Keeper by Erica Bauermeister
Civil Wars by June Jordan
