Sisters of the revolution : a feminist speculative fiction anthology

This isn't my normal reading matter, (I am much more likely to read fantasy than 'speculative fiction') but I really, really wanted to read Ursula Le Guin's Sur, and this seemed the easiest way to get it. Was that story worth buying the book? Yes. Would the book have been worth buying without Sur? Probably, but I would probably not have run into it.

No, I didn't like all the stories. There was one I didn't finish, and another I shouldn't have. A few that left me without any real feeling. And several that I didn't enjoy. But most of the stories, whether or not I enjoyed reading them, were worth reading, worth thinking about.

BTW Sur (Le Guin) tells the story of nine women from South America, three of whom reached the south pole before Amundsen, but chose to leave no sign of their passage.

Thanks for the recommendation. Another one for my ever-expanding wishlist... I hadn't heard of Sur before - Le Guin was quite prolific! - but it seems to touch on so many of my interests, I really want to read it NOW!

>1 MarthaJeanne: Sur is a great story. Although I first came across it in a collection called "Compass Rose". In the same collection was a story of an academic analyzing the writings of a worker ant that was found dead in one of the colony tunnels, who had been clearly rebelling against the queen.

>2 Dilara86: That was exactly the reaction I had when I read about it.
