Suggestions for ya romance with strong/tough female lead?

Hi guys. I'm looking for lighthearted teen romances with a smart, strong, even tough female protagonist, like Susannah in the mediators series by Meg Cabot. A heroine that actively stands up for herself and her friends and isn't easily intimidated, manipulated or seduced by jerks and bullies. One that sticks to her moral compass. If you can suggest one that's witty like Cabot, that would be a plus. Thank you!

I really loved the Mediator books! One of my absolute faves that I go back and read again and again. It is rather a hard series to duplicate.

You could try Every Breath by Ellie Marney which the first of a trilogy that I really enjoyed. There is nothing supernatural about it though, more of a murder mystery type series. Also, the author is Australian so some of the slang (for me) was strange. But, overall a very good trilogy.

I'll have to think a bit if I can come up with more suggestions.

You could also try Got Fangs? by Katie Maxwell which was pretty good as I remember. It has been a while since I read it. I have it still somewhere and will have to re-read.

Highly recommend 'Teenagers Versus Cannibals' by Roc Romanskii. Very strong female co-lead in this one. But warning: this is a very tense and scary book for YA. Recommended for readers 14 and up.

You should read The Selection and Divergent. Delirium is good, and The Hunger Games is good. The hunger games was kind of misleading because of the name, but it's really not that. It's more of a strong female lead book, where the main character has to fend for herself. The same is true for Divergent.
