Plot started out in past after alexander the great was in India, where the generals found 4 gyroscopes and scrolls and then spread the gyroscopes and scrolls to the 4 corners to the world.
Cut to present day, 2 children have lost their parents and have to go live on a former British spy ship with their uncle because parents have gotten lost looking for the gyroscopes and scrolls for an organization.
Thus hijinks ensue.
Son is looking for this book from his youth. Probably from early 2000's.
