The Crimes of Grindelwald - movie

I didn't see a thread for this topic. I finally saw it last night and although the special effects were fantastic, I can't help but feel the script was disjointed and nonsensical, as if they were rushing to get through it to get on to the next movie. Not nearly so well done as the first one. Several of the characters completely broke from their previous personalities and motivations. It was hard to follow and felt like they were reaching. It's not as if Disney doesn't have enough money already. I won't say more for fear of spoilers.

I felt like they were trying to cram a lot of stuff into one movie, which is weird considering how many movies the series is slated to be. I agree with a lot of your points.

I think I went into it seeing it as a middle book of a trilogy. It's there more to move the plot along and not meant as more than a filler. Which is probably sad. That being said, I really wish they'd cast someone else as Grindelwald, because I keep seeing Captain Jack Sparrow...

After I saw it, I said it felt like I should have read the book first, except there wasn't a book to read and I didn't take the time to read a copy of the script. I only saw it the one time, so maybe it improves with more watching. Also didn't care for the direction they took with some of the characters.
