I just found Sex and the Slayer at my local bookstore and had to buy it...

Does anyone know any more good (or even academic) works about the TV-show?

The grandparent of this subcategory of books is Fighting the Forces: What's at Stake in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, edited by Rhonda Wilcox and David Lavery. I have a special fondness for Reading the Vampire Slayer edited by Roz Kaveney since it was the first one of these types of books I bought.

There's a book about the religious / spiritual aspects of Buffy called What Would Buffy Do? It's pretty good, very readable. There's another book called Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy, which is more academic. Both worth taking a look at, I think....

I have read the Philosophy book and really enjoyed it.
