To all the book loving cat people on LibraryThing, I hope the festive season has brought you & yours joy - or at least not been too stressful!

This photo was sent to me yesterday as a Christmas greeting from Kerri who runs the shelter where I volunteer :) For those that don't know her story (pretty sure I've shared it here before), that's my friend Minerva :) She's a long term resident at The Cat Corner while she waits for her purrfect human/s to find her & take her to her forever home. She's is a bit of a special case for me, an ex-feral cat who used to pace her enclosure non-stop, I could stick my hand in & get an accidental pat as she paced underneath my hand, but she was hissy & scratchy or bitey at times & a ball of muscle from all the pacing, so it took a long time for me to build up the courage & confidence to try & make friends with her.

We’ve come such a long way now, I can pick her up & cuddle her nearly every time I visit & I don’t even need to turn my head aside (which I used to do coz I was worried she would bite my nose, lol), I’ve even given her smooches on the head a few times!!! She still gives the occasional swipe when she forgets that she’s not a feral cat any more – or when I pat her in the wrong way, lol – but she really makes me smile so much when she trills at me as I walk towards her enclosure & arches her back & rubs herself up against the wire if she’s up for a cuddle – or retreats to her shelf if she just wants pats today :)

Kerri also sent me these - her words "here's some evidence that Minerva likes Seanie cuddles" lol :)

Here is Illyria under the Christmas tree. Our cats are pretty good about leaving the tree alone, and just sitting under it.
