I started reading The Night Watch long ago and somehow got diverted from finishing it; so this is a good opportunity to pick it up again.

Officially and unofficially, I'm excited to be reading this one! This is my first Sarah Waters novel, although she's been on my TBR list for a while.

My first time here too. I saw that it was the next book and since I have it, seems like it would be fun to join. I've read Tipping the Velvet and The Little Stranger and liked both.

this has been on my "to read" list for a very long time. Started once and couldn't get into it. I did read "the paying guests" this year and it was pretty good. we shall see!!

Looks like I've got a week to track a copy down, to have time to start before June.

I haven't read in time with others since high school (college as I recall we had to be done by a certain date and then discuss the entire novel) so this will be interesting.

I've been meaning to re-read this book for some time, so this is a good excuse.

It's my first participation in OLOB.

Excited to see so many members joining us for the first time for a novel by one of my favorite authors! I've read all of Sarah Waters's books so far and this is actually the one about which I remember the least, so I'm glad for the prompt to re-read it.

Interested in joining this group. I've never been part of a book group but I read so much. I look forward to having others to share the topic with. So excited.

This is one of two Sarah Waters for me, the other being The Little Stranger. When I went back to see my comments on Nightshift I saw a lot of confusion, so I think this would be a good time and place for me to do a reread.....where I can see the comments of others.
The first week of June is Mary Hocking reading week so I will be joining in after that.
Thank you for setting this up. I look forward to it.

A great opportunity to reread this book. This was the first of Sarah Waters' novels I read. I have recently read The Paying Guest which was a book of two halves for me.

Hi, Since I was just searching thru my unread books on my shelves to what to read next since I have my regular book club June book and my audio book going, I try to have a 3rd book in the mix of something I have on my shelf (good or not, I have quite a few in currently reading- pile and not always interested in those...) I was pleasantly surprised to see I have this title in my unread shelf and so... I look forward to reading it with the group!

Hello everyone! This is also my first time with OLOB, and I am very excited to read The Night Watch with you all! I recently read The Paying Guests and Fingersmith for my 2015 category challenge, and I enjoyed both. Happy reading!

I was surprised to see that my library has 5 copies of this book available and no holds so I'm in. I read Fingersmith a long time ago and remember liking it a lot but not much else about it. Looking forward to joining this group.

Super excited for this OLOB! I read Tipping The Velvet and it was, well, life-changing, so I'm excited to get around to more Sarah Waters.

Taking time out of racing through a series of books, so I have high hopes.

I am really exciting about joining OLOB. It is a first time in joining a book group anywhere. It is nice that I can put down my impressions in written form. I would like to give back to this site as I win many books through librarything.com. I read on 4 different books at any given time. I am trying to catch up on all the book from librarything.com.

I just started the audiobook version from the library. I'll be going on vacation so commuting time will cut out and I may need ot switch to the book, but the library had it on the shelf last time I was there. I ought to be able to finish some version during the group read.

Hi! Just started the book today. I'm late to the party but I'll try to catch up! This is my first OLOB. I read Tipping the Velvet and Fingersmith, ages ago, I remember really enjoying both, so I expect this one will be great too.
I'm listening on audiobook while doing craft work, which is my favorite way to "read" lately. Hope I can get caught up and participate with the group!

Hello, I'm joining the party (very) late - I loved Tipping the Velvet and most of Fingersmith (the final act was a bit overwrought) a couple of years ago, and I found The Night Watch in my local charity shop so I'm looking forward to playing catch up!
