I made good progress last year, and I hope to continue reducing my "to be read" shelf.

In 2011, I completed a small goal of reading 12 books from my shelves.

In 2012, I read 16 books from my shelves and fell 8 short of my 24 book goal. I had 48 total books on my TBR shelf and finished the year with 45 total books. I reduced my overall shelf total by three.

In 2013, I read 17 books from my shelves and fell 7 short of my 24 book goal. I also culled the shelf to remove books that I'm just never going to read. I had 45 total books on my TBR shelf in January and finished the year with 23 total books. I reduced my shelf overall by 22 books!

In 2014, I read 10 books from my shelves and now have 13 books left. This left me just three short of my goal of having a shelf of only ten books. Not bad though!

This year, I hope to maintain a TBR shelf with only about 10 books at any given time.

1. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy (4 stars)
2. The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer (3.5 stars)
3. Started Early, Took My Dog by Kate Atkinson (4 stars)
4. Persuasion by Jane Austen (4 stars)
5. Middlemarch by George Eliot (barely started; didn't finish)

This year, I hope to maintain a TBR shelf with less than 10 books at any given time Wow! That's a great idea! I wish I had that kind of restraint!
Good luck with your challenge in 2015.
