If you like Flashy, you may want the non fiction "Queen Victoria's Little Wars"
by Byron Farwell. This is an excellent little book on the amazing number of small clashes and native wars during the 19th century that British forces (and Flashy) were involved in fighting.
If nothing else, it gives a background to the times and conflicts that Flashy and British society was heir to.
