Has anything new been discovered about the Martian lander Beagle 2, since they gave up on the project?

"Professor Colin Pillinger Dead: 'Beagle 2' Mars Mission Scientist Dies At 70" is the title of the article on the Professor's passing. Sorry to see him go, from the article it seems he could have worked with a number of space mission teams.

>1 LesMiserables: Quote from article at Space.com link below: "The U.K. Space Agency is holding a news conference Friday (Jan. 16) about Europe's Beagle 2 Mars lander, prompting speculation that the probe has finally been found more than 11 years after dropping off scientists' radar during its journey to the Red Planet."

Nice relevant reference back to a dead thread! Interested to hear what's coming.

It's a pity Colin Pillinger isn't around for any news.

>9 abbottthomas: Ouch!! Looks like a possible design flaw with the antennae being on the bottom of the "petals" to be deployed. No chance for any contact unless all systems function perfectly. Must be a confidence builder that the other components of landing deployed however.
