I'm relatively new to the site, and I'd like to get involved in the community here.

I'm a stay-at-home mom of a three month old, and I am a graduate student of Library Sciences (currently on a bit of a hiatus).

Thus far, in the month of January, I have read:

1. Dr. Sleep: The Shining #2 - Stephen King
2. NOS4A2 - Joe Hill
3. Heart-Shaped Box - Joe Hill
4. Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk*
5. The Boy Who Could See Demons - Carolyn Jess-Cooke
6. The Gates: Samuel Johnson #1 - John Connolly*
7. The Infernals: Samuel Johnson #2 - John Connolly
8. The Creeps: Samuel Johnson #3 - John Conolly
9. Satan Burger - Carlton Mellick III
10. A Life in Men - Gina Frangello **Early Reviewers - November 2013
11. Serial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters - Peter Vronsky
12. The Kept Girl - Kim Cooper **Member Giveaway January 2014
13. Diary - Chuck Palahniuk*

* = Second Time Through/ Multiple Readings

I'm a bit ahead of the curve here - what with late night feedings and a very full Kindle to accompany my baby holdings/snuggles. The winter usually lends itself to more reading than the summer months do.

I'll keep updating the thread as I push onward and upward.

Oh I remember those days of baby feedings at awkward hours with a book in my hand (no such thing as ereaders back in those days). I hope you get lots more peaceful moments with your little one and a book!

Welcome to the group !

Welcome! I must say, I'm impressed. When mine was 3 months old, I could have read the same book a dozen times over and had no idea, I was just so tired. Great blessings to you and your little one!

I still tell Mr Bear (11 years old now) that he owes me six weeks of reading, because I didn't read a word for the first six weeks of his existence. Not quite sure how he's going to pay me back, but I'm sure we'll work something out one day, :)

Welcome to the group, and I like what you're reading!

14. The Uninvited - Liz Jenson

Creepy! But definitely an enthralling, recommended read for suspense, psychological thriller, horror and dystopian fiction fans.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. We haven't been letting the baby around TV, so I'm alone all day with her, board books and my kindle :) I'm tired - but not so much this past month. I couldn't read at all for the first two. I'm making up for lost time!

15. The Moon Dwellers - David Estes **Member Giveaway January 2014

Review posted. A delightful YA adventure.

I was all about keeping my son away from television when he was young. Unfortunately my sweet husband used it for "party nights", as he called the nights they were up from 1 to 5 am. It didn't ruin him, though, he's at college now and does not even own a television, his choice.
