Just because she is pretty:

Holey moley malony!! That is one brave cat! He does look a bit worried though. Make sure he goes on the "knit" cycle. You wouldn't want to shrink his fur.

Not worried - he put himself there. Unless he was worried that I'd be cross with him.

He periodically gets lost and I have to check all the cupboards and drawers ... but maybe one day ... I never turn anything on before checking to make sure that he is not in whatever appliance I'm intending to use.

Seanie, I don't remember where I got the tiger photograph. I just scanned my Facebook page feeds, Huffington Post, and Cute Overload, my most likely sources, and didn't see it there. I have a faint memory that the source wasn't interesting, and so I didn't put a link to it. Sometimes if you cursor over one of my picture posts you'll find a link to the source or some other curiosity, but not this time. Sorry.

Wow that is a great shot. I wonder how the cat later punished the picture taker for taking a picture instead of rescuing his nose :)

It looks like the lizard is missing some of its tail - so the cat may have gotten in the first hit.

This is Squeaks, a feral cat who comes for meals every day. He makes a tiny noise when I produce the goods, hence his name.

There are three cats that sometimes hang out on the east end of campus where I've started taking classes again. (Well, I think there are three -- there are three coat patterns, but they won't let me get too close.)

One of them is a tuxedo.


There's also a black-and-white splotchy (on the left) and a gray cat.

Nothing better than a kitten in a Cool Whip container.

Yeah, I think they have a human staff. I haven't seen them on campus in a few weeks -- though I did see a couple cats across the street that could have been them, of which I'd be more certain if they weren't on the far side of the lot -- so I assume they've got people off campus somewhere.

Edit: Come to think of it, if they do live on campus, they're probably... unofficial. The institution I attend is good enough academically, but the administration is disorganized as all get out.

I'm getting kinda short tempered about not being able to make the picture a hyperlink. It previews just fine, but then doesn't post right. Fortunately I've got a picture of one day old kittens from Cute Overload to calm my wrath.

For awhile it was an intermittent problem for me. I wonder whether you accidentally hit an up time, or it's been fixed, or you did something different that I don't see.

Don't know. This was the first time I have tried to link through an image in this context. According to the bug discussion, it doesn't work when the image reference is the first thing in the post, but in #65 it is the first thing I placed.

I don't mind if you use those very young kittens as your examples in a "technical discussion" :-)

Yes, AnnaClaire, there are shelters near me, but I currently have a very territorial cat who doesn't suffer others lightly. :-(

She just turned 10 years old last week. :-)

I just tested my 'blood Sugar' - 7.9 - a bit high. Of course I blame it ALL on kitten pictures!

Thanks suitable1, I did think about how long a picture/link would last. On my Fan based web-site I have the same problem (but usually only after a period of some years)

Everyone/everything dies! Thus I recon. posting transient pictures of 'cute kittens' is OK.

Before I post, I do have one question. Out of the many, many pictures availible on the Net, how do you (and I'm talking to everyone on this group and on LT in general) choose what you post?

And I'm not talking about Our personal cat photos.

The Oregon Zoo has had a few interesting cat stories recently.

Haha MM - not a chance, the bar stools are somewhere she retreats when her brother is in "stupid chasing mode", usually he leaves her alone when she's there, but occasionally he gets up on his back feet & tries to box her up there - but either way the bar stools are her spot & not his - she just usually only claims one at a time, tehehehe :)
