A place to discuss such beings as the members of the various Vamipire Courts, as well as the members of Summer and Winter and all those other baddies that Harry has faced over the course of the series.

I'm curious to know more about Harry's godmother. Or what Queen Mab might want from him.

Some spoilers mentioned ahead

Oh me too! At first I thought Lea was this wholly bad guy but she does seem to hold some sort of soft spot for Harry. Remember in Summer Knight when she tells Harry never to let Mab bring him where the Table is? Sure she only thinks of her interests most of the time, but every now and then it seems that she does appear to care for Harry in some twisted way.lol.

I'd be interested to learn how she met Harry's mom and how she first met Harry too. I know Harry mentions that he met her as a youth, but he doesn't go into how or why she came to him (though it makes sense since Lea knew his mom...but did he know at the time?).

I think that Ortega of the Red Court vampires is intriguing. In Death Masks he did seem almost likeable, but who knows. Maybe he was trying to trick Harry into lowering his guard around him.

Oh, I also want to learn more about Nicodemus and the other Fallen. Especially why they wanted Harry on their side so bad, enough to trick him into a silver coin. I think it'll be interesting to see what comes of that Fallen, Lasciel is the name I think? At the end of Blood Rites he had her sigil on the palm of his hand and he used some sort of Fallen power, Hellfire, without realizing it. Even though he buried the coin and put wards or spells on it, Lasciel seems to be able to still touch him somehow. I bet that's a plotline that will be explored in later books (if it hasn't already, I haven't read past Blood Rites).

Beware.....spoilers could be ahead depending on how far into the series you are.

I think that the Denarians wanted Harry as part of their order because he is such a powerful wizard. I don't think any of the other members came with powers before they took up the coin, but rather acquired different abilities as they became more and more possessed by the demon in the coin. Just think what havoc Lasciel could cause with her demon powers combined with Harry's strong magical ones?

I think that all the vampires are interesting in some way. They all have their little quirks and don't always seem so bad, even though deep down you know that they'll never change. I also think that the differences between the courts are all interesting. How they acquire their powers....and what they look like after the turning. Its all so intriguing and challenges all those traditional vampire myths out there.

As for Lea, I think that she started to contact Harry when he began to came into his powers. She has always wanted him to be loyal to her and do her bidding and often offers to help him in exchange for something. When he was a kid she granted him enough power to defeat Justin who was trying to enthrall him in exchange for his feality....and which he has been trying to avoid ever since. It was also because of that help that he was put under the Doom of Damocles for so many years afterwards....and why many of the council members don't like/trust him much. Although his charm when talking to the council probably doesn't help matters.

Lol. I think that's one of the things I love most about Harry. His charm and wit.=) Have you noticed that every time he comes up against the bad guys he is always making some smart remark? It's so great. He's scared out of his mind, but he has to be funny.

I have noticed....and that's part of why I love Harry so much. He is just very funny....even in situations where he probably shouldn't be. I think that its part misdirection - confuse the enemy - and part 'i am so scard shitless that i must be insane to be doing this'. His charm is definately missing from the tv series.
