Anyone who loves ancient maps must have a look at Seeing The World Anew, a superb limited edition by Levenger Press, who publish very few books (usually only one a year, but of very high quality).
The book features details of Waldseemuller's 1507 and 1516 world maps, with a detailed explanation of the maps, enlarged copies of each sectional sheet of the map with further explanation, and two fold out above half size copies of the maps housed in pockets at the front and back of the book. It was published in 2012 in cooperation with the Library of Congress, who own the originals.

I can commend this book to all of you, but if you live outside the USA (as I do) Levenger charges horrendously high package and postage fees.

I purchased a second volume from Levenger on China at the same time. The combined postage was US$80.
