Hi, drneutron, I see from your profile that you use the library A LOT! I do too. We have a fantastic one in our community. Best wishes for a Happy New Year. Maybe I should start reading short books or kids books to get my numbers up....just kidding!

I want to start Wolf Hall but it's a bit of a whopper and know I will love it from all the feedback on LT. Good for you for getting a good start!

Happy New Year, Mary! Like you, I am hoping to get more books read this year! You will love Wolf Hall when you get to it. I also see you have Where White Horses Gallop in your library; one of my all-time favourites!

Yep, big library fan. 75% of my books last year came from the library!

Hi Nancy, Have your read any other of Mantel's books? I see lots of people on L.T. like her books. I have read a New Yorker article recently about her and she is very interesting! Yes, I liked Where White Horses Gallop and I liked short stories Mennonites Don't Dance by Darcie Hossack. The author writes for a newspaper (Kamloops I think) as their food writer. The stories are amazing!

You need the img and quotation marks - so this in the pointy brackets

img src="http://www.leblogjardin.com/files/2012/08/rhododendronchristmas.jpg"

gives

Hope this helps:)

Hi,
How do you insert a personal image (photo) in?

Just experimenting....

Well that time you have the code right but that is not the image URL - they normally end in .jpg

Depending on your browser there are various ways of getting the code. You can find out which one works for your browser on the help thread. Most of them involve right clicking on the picture you want and choosing something that has words like "copy image URL"

So this is the code you need for the tree frog http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/95/White_lipped_tree_frog_...

Edit Oops That one truncates and I'm not sure how to show the whole code:(

Hi mdoris

Good luck with your photo posting, it took me a while to get the hang of it, but once you do you'll be away laughing.

Just one space or missed digit ruins the whole thing, so look carefully for those kids of things :)

Mary, you did it! What kind of dog is that? What a cutie! And your rhododendrons are gorgeous. I miss flowers this time of year. Lucky you.

Hi Donna,
Just got the images from Google Images but really it was just to try and figure out how to do the image insert and FINALLY!!!! I figured it out. But I do have the same rhodo blooming in my garden now and it's called Christmas Cheer, and I do have a ( standard poodle who looks exactly like the dog in the photo all wet because it has been raining here today. Trying to get launched on Wolf Halll but it's such a whopper. Have been looking at lots of threads and sure have my reading list cut out for me for the year! Always great looking at your threads (and pics). Very wonderful reads!

Mary, you've got it! Now I'll be looking for lots more images on your thread!

Nancy, now I have to figure out how to get a personal photo on. I think it has to be web based so I will try to get that going......I am very new at this thread "business"! I see you LOVE lists too. Been looking at the best of 2012 lists...very inspirational.

Hi Mary - I don't think a personal photo on the profile page has to be web-based, but can be added from a photo on your computer - if I remember correctly - otherwise I use photobucket.com - they have a nice feature with a html-link besides the uploaded photo you can paste in.

Oh, I always make reading lists (a winter-list and spring-list etc.) but I always add other books on it as I go along. Hope your reading is going fine this year.

Hi Mary, I use Photobucket and I also use the Member Gallery and Junk Drawer which are accessed through our LT profiles. Photos can be uploaded there and then opened in their own link so they are web-based (have their own http:// address).

Hi Mary- I (re)found your 75 list. But are you still using this thread?

Abr 26, 2013, 1:10 am

Hi Megan,
Well..... yes/no/maybe......is there a nicer word for" lurker"? I guess I have been following some wonderful 75 threads and certainly found some great ideas for reads. Have had some great ideas from your thread.
I will get cracking and add to yours too!

Abr 26, 2013, 8:43 pm

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your visit! I am reading the Jeanette Walls Half Broke Horses, almost finished but I have overwhelmed myself with lots of books from the library so it is going to be a hard choice. I am thinking the Susan Cain book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. Just got the brand new Donna Leon, The Golden Egg, so that might book horn in! What about you?

34lit_chick
Abr 27, 2013, 5:42 pm

Hi Mary : ). I thoroughly enjoyed Half Broke Horses as well as The Glass Castle. I'm off to look up the Quiet: The Power of Introverts; you've piqued my attention with that one.

35mdoris
Abr 27, 2013, 9:02 pm

Hi Nancy,
I think Walls is coming out with a new book soon (June) ,The Silver Star. Yes, I liked both books too. They certainly transported me to another family, another geography and certainly different child rearing. If you are interested in the Susan Cain book, she does a presentation on TED talks that is interesting. Just got the new Donna Leon the Golden Egg, and it has pushed aside the Quiet book a few days!

Mary, just watched Gail Cain's TED talk: SO well done! Thank you for telling me about her. I'll be following along to see what you think of The Golden Egg. Right now, I'm reading Kingsolver's Flight Behaviour; it's very good : ).
