When a member from the English site gives an image comment, I receive the update in English on my Dutch site:
for instance
Member conceptDawg has left a message on KlingonHaiku's picture.
But when a member from the French site gives an image comment, I receive the update in French on my Dutch site:
for instance
L'utilisateur miniwark a laissé un message concernant l'image de Collectorator.
I can't find this sentence on the following page in order to give the right translation. http://www.librarything.nl/translate.php?page=2978915030

Actually, I would post this in the Bug Collectors.
The problem is that the message you are getting is not sent in the language you had selected in your profile but is based on the site used to send you the message. So if I send you a message from the Bulgarian site, I suspect that you might receive it in Bulgarian (if this string is already translated).
If it was just a translation issue, you would always get it in English.... no idea where the string is hiding for translation though - there are some that are not on the page you would expect.
