See our terms of use and the "tread lightly" section of our "How Authors Can Use LibraryThing" page. Talk threads are not the place to be advertising your book.

Jeremy - You should have sent him a profile message instead. Then this thread would have never even appeared for me. :D

I also sent a profile message, after realizing there were a whole bunch of threads of the same thing.

But brightcopy's point is that threads with only a single post that have been adequately flagged won't even show up as new threads in Talk. Once you add a second post everyone sees it and has to deal with it.

I know that. Thanks.

Okay, more to the point, the author may be underage.

(Actually, she seems a bit math-challenged. She says she's 10, in postings from November, 2011, but one of them says she was born in September, 1998, which would make her 13 and legit.)

>7 lilithcat: I'd guess that her standard author profile was written up once and then she continued to post it elsewhere even once it was out of date.

I'd be inclined to agree, were it not for the fact that her one and only book was published in September of last year, and, according to its page at Amazon, the back cover says she's 9.

Heh. Then I have no further ideas for how she could get her birth year wrong.

The only way to register on some sites is to be 13 years old or more -- so a lot of people come up with new birth dates for that purpose.

I've asked the member to confirm her age. Thanks.
