Based on a Gallup study of over two million people who have excelled in their careers, Now, Discover Your Strengths uses a revolutionary program to help readers discover their distinct talents and strengths. The product of a 25 year, multimillion-dollar effort to identify the most prevalent human talents, the StrengthsFinder program introduces 34 talents or “themes” and reveals how they can best be translated into personal and career success.

As you read the book, consider the following questions:
1. If you took the online Strengths Finder what is your opiniion of its results in relation to your own perceptions of your strengths?
2. Sometimes a weakness will interfere with one’s ability to deliver excellent performance. If you believe this might be the case with you, would you be willing to share with us your weakness and how it has interfered with your achieving excellent performance? What measures have you used to try to overcome the performance issue? Do you believe you are achieving some results with your strategy and if so, would you map out the steps you have tried?
3. Your “signature themes” are identified by the Strengths Finder, but these themes cannot identify a specific field in which you will excel. Your “themes”, however, should surface in some manner in your work accountabilities. As a chemist what did you discover between the relationship of your “themes” and the work you are currently doing? If you have noted little relationship, what actions are you considering? If your answer should be “none”, would you be willing to tell us what outcomes you think will occur.
