Book tastes

I read mostly fiction though I also like biographies (especially of cool women). I love mysteries (especially Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Elly Griffiths, Viveca Sten, Judith Flanders) and have recently been dipping my toe back into sci-fi and fantasy after a long hiatus. I read a lot of Regency or historical romance but very little contemporary romance. I also like non-fiction about spies even though I don't like Le Carre, Ludlum, or Fleming.
Recent books I loved: Once Upon a River; Good Omens; A Single Thread; The Traitor and the Spy; Unorthodox; The Sympathizer; The Name of the Wind; What You Don't Know about Charlie Outlaw; The Book of Essie; Daisy Jones and the Six; A Man Called Ove.

Don't get this!

Please no westerns, Christian fiction, erotica, military fiction, or non-fiction (other than the subjects mentioned above).

Other notes

I rarely enjoy self-published works; I prefer to stick with books published by larger, non-vanity presses.

kristilabrie: Had to remove A Court of Thorn and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and The Keeper of Happy Endings by Barbara Davis to keep within budget, sorry! (Dez 14, 2023, 4:04pm)
chessley: If you like Name of the Wind Red Rising by Pierce Brown is really good. It is a bit more in the sci-fi category, but they have some similar themes. (Nov 28, 2023, 9:06pm)
