Sobre Minha Biblioteca
I really love Robert Heinlein. I know that some of his stuff is a little dated these days, but it doesn't matter because the stories are absolutely wonderful. He is science fiction, of course, but he isn't about lasers and spaceships. He's really about the story and the characters.

And, I'm a guy, so I do enjoy the occasional spy novel and other pretty typical guy reads. However, I like stories of all sorts. In fact, I recently read "The Thornbirds" for the first time and I absolutely loved it. "The Pillars of the Earth" is a great read. Anyway, I'm getting my cart ahead of my horse.

I like any story that really gets me emotionally invested in the characters. The best books are the ones that make me sad when the book is over. I always want to know what happens to the characters after the last page is done. That is a hallmark of a great book, in my humble opinion.

That said, I'm simply not intelligent enough to enjoy extremely heady stuff. It is unlikely that I will ever read the Russian Masters or anything of that sort.

I do love Frank Herbert (and to a lesser extent, Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson). I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the Dune books. They are splendid.

On the other hand, I like to read fun books. I love the Harry Dresden books and, yes, I enjoyed the Harry Potter books. They are fun. Not everything we read has to be serious. That's a drag.
About Me
I love to read. I am just a regular guy with a library card and lots of free time. I'm hoping that LibraryThing will point me to some really great reads.
