Sobre mimI'm currently working on a dissertation — to be submitted in June 2021 — comparing the treatment of the colonised 'other' in French and British children's literature of the interwar (i.e., WW1-WW2) period. I'm grounding this in an analysis of imperial and colonial ideologies and the collective mentalities prevalent at the time. The title is 'Empire and colonies in French and British children's literature in the interwar period (1919-1938): black people and the representation of the colonised "other"'. The research plan/roadmap is at tinyurl.com/steveresearch
