Mande loves picture books with read aloud appeal which can be read over and over. She also is a fan of adult fiction (both literary and commercial)

Mande Buckmaster is a writer, reader, thrill seeker, gastronome, and mom to kids and fur kids. This Wyomingite was bitten by the travel bug at an early age. Writing her first picture book, YOUR GREATEST ADVENTURE, was a cathartic way of reflecting upon some of her crazier past adventures in preparation for a life-changing one—motherhood. Now she knows the two go hand in hand (like wearing scarves with sandals in California).

YOUR GREATEST ADVENTURE received an Indie Excellence Finalist award in two categories: Picture Books – Preschool and Book Cover Design.

Mande is a long-standing a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators) and has written for the San Diego Chapter’s newsletter, the Valley Roadrunner & Boulevard Magazine, and continues to write picture books for children.
