Sobre mimI'm a bibliophile for sure. I love reading, but I REALLY just love books in general. It started when I was young and made my own library out of all the Scholastic paperbacks my mom would let me order from the monthly school catalogs. We certainly weren't rich, but I remember begging for as many books as possible. Then, high school came, and it seemed my book obsession had grown dormant amongst the glitter and glory of those teenage years. My senior year of high school, however, I became a library aide, and it was a year the state granted school libraries thousands of dollars for ordering new books. Oh, they were so beautiful; it was a bibliophile's heaven ;-). That re-kindled my bookish desire, and finally, the summer before my junior year of college, that dormant compulsion for books had crept back into my conscious thoughts, and I began frequenting used book stores and library sales. Then, I took an adolescent literature class as part of my Secondary English Teaching degree, and my affinity for young adult lit was birthed. I began re-reading books from my childhood and discovered why my teachers shared them with us; I read classics and started delving into poetry, and from there, my library, both adult and adolescent, continued growing. I have slowed down the volume of my acquistions in the last 2 years because I didn't want it to grow out of control (I believe in moderation), and also because I had moved to Saipan to take a missionary teaching position in a local school and made next to nothing, so money was tight. Now, I'm back in the states, but lacking a current job has also curbed my procuring! However, my love for books will always follow me throughout life, and I look forward to eventually reading all the books I currently have, as well as adding some new ones as I go. I am always open for suggestions :-). I am sorry to report that I am absoutely horrible when it comes to answering comment postings, so responses to comments are rarely forthcoming (as a heads up :-).
Sobre a minha bibliotecaIt's eclectic, but it's heavy on classics, young adult literature, Agatha Christie, and historical fiction. I've also recently been branching out in my fantasy and science fiction interests. I am a HUGE Agatha Christie fan. However, my library is also sprinkled with poetry, humor, non-fiction, drama, inspirational, and even some popular fiction. My favorite genres are historical fiction and fantasy, but I'm open to just about anything that catches my attention, and my library reflects this as well. And, I suppose I should add that I included my husband's books in here too. Though I had way more books than him, now that we're married, they are technically OURS now . . . :-).
