My library is made up of non-fiction, history, historical and realistic fiction with some science-fiction and paranormal as well. I am not a big fan of horror.

For over 30 years Eileen has been an educator both in and out of the classroom: four years as a private school music teacher, writing plays and musicals for her students. During her 14 year classroom sabbatical, she taught private music lessons. In 2002 she returned to the classroom for 3 years as a pre-school teacher and for the past 10 years as a Reading Resource Paraeducator where she wrote books for classroom use. A Winchester, Virginia native and lover of history, she visited historical sites around the United States. While living in Fauquier County, Virginia, Goodman was filmed during the 1980s, in a mini-series, a documentary, and a local television show where she wrote her own historical script. From her manuscript she wrote a play in which she performed at local schools. Goodman also made public educational appearances in schools and libraries throughout the county. In 1993 she moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia where she became a living historian tour guide for several years. Between 1998 and 2001, the local university’s Historical Preservation Club requested her as dance mistress for their annual Civil War Ball fundraiser. As a living historian for 35 years, Goodman portrayed a civilian, teacher, and a medical corps head matron. All of this and her ongoing research of the Civil War, plus the areas in which she lived and visited, led to the birth of her first novel, Storm Over Fauquier: The Foreboding Tempest: 1860-1861, and at least one sequel.
