- I used to have a huge collection of books, before a series of moves forced me to pare it down to the very basic basics. Now I pick up the odd volume for a dollar or two from the local library branch, which may explain some of the eclectic nature of the books I actually own at this point.
Well, no. I've always had eclectic tastes.
I know some people use LibraryThing as a giant catalogue of Things They Have Read, but I tend not to enter a book unless I own it and I've got it right here at the computer with me as I enter my search terms to find it in the database. I also don't have a lot of space, so my library shall probably remain rather small.
Note: stuff tagged 'inherited' was given to me by my maternal grandmother shortly before her death. Yes, it felt vaguely ghoulish to take it before she shuffled off, but she was ill enough that she couldn't really use them anymore. Every one of those books is a treasure.
Other tags of note: 'thanks relatives' should give you an idea of what my LIVING family thinks of me, and I've apparently been on LibraryThing long enough to have given away or sold the stuff that wasn't really compelling enough to keep - those books are, of course, tagged 'no longer own'. - About Me
