Sobre Minha Biblioteca
I am going for total, brutal honesty here. I've listed any book I can remember ever reading for myself (I've read hundreds to the kids and there's no way I'd have time to list them all or the memory to recall them) - so there's stuff from pre-teen and teenage years along with more recent selections. That should make my library a pretty confusing mess for those trying to find a kindred spirit. The possible thought process of someone coming across my library: "Oh, this guy has a bunch of books similar to my deep, intellectual, meaningful library. Let me see what else he has... 'Walter the Farting Dog?'" Yes. And as a matter of fact, the book is hilarious...and that's not a good example since I read that as an adult.

Majority of my books are hardcover, most are first prints, many are signed. I may move away from signed unless I'm involved with getting them signed directly. I only send books to get signed if I intend to keep them. I think it's a lousy thing to have an author go through the trouble of signing if you intend to just profit off their efforts. My rating system is simple:

5 - One of my favorite books ever...probably only room for 5 to 10 of these...and I'll insist my friends and/or wife give it a shot.

4.5 - I'll rave about this book probably lend it to a friend, track down a first edition if I can afford it.

4 - Would recommend to others. Might re-read.

3 to 3.5 - Would likely read other books by this author and would recommend.

2 to 2.5 - Probably would not read another book by this author. Unlikely to recommend.

.5 to 1.5 = Probably shouldn't have seen the light of day and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
About Me
I love to read and I love to write. I can never find enough time to do either as much as I'd like.

My wife loves to read too, but doesn't get my passion for collecting books, so she's kind of banned from reading anything I have that's valuable since she tends to put things down wherever she gets distracted - wet kitchen counter, front porch, on the cat... etc.

Which leads me to my next point: I have a cat who thinks he's a dog. True story. I think. I can't read my cat's mind, but just taking a guess.
