In addition to inheriting copious libraries from my grand-aunts who voraciously bought everything coming into print in the 1920' through '40's, I have a research library of my own purchase, ranging from an early 17th century printing of the thirteenth century Chronica Majora to a current stack of studies of Edward I for a possible follow-up of the Montfort books. i am an avid re-reader of Dorothy Dunnett for fun.

As author and playwright, I've just completed 34 years of research and writing of the four volume series Montfort, a speculative history in the form of a novel. Building the work from documents of the period, in Montfort I explore how and why the actual events might have occurred. My other works are history-based performance pieces for film, television and radio.
