Sobre Minha Biblioteca
The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Library and Archives (Albuquerque, NM) promotes the history and experiences of the Pueblo Indian people of New Mexico through its special collections.

Collection development efforts for the Library and Archives include a research library and the preservation of special collections such as: manuscripts, personal papers, official reports, photographs, audio/visual materials and an oral history project centered on the historical and contemporary life of the 20 Pueblo nations. Additional materials are of a general historical nature on Native peoples in the Southwest.

The library supports both published and unpublished monographs/books while the archives acquires, organizes, describes, protects, preserves and makes accessible materials that support both community and academic interests.

All priority materials acquired for the collection perpetuate the culture and history of the nineteen Pueblo Indian communities of New Mexico and Ysleta del Sur in El Paso, TX. They assist in building self-knowledge, Pueblo identity and in securing a place in the national historical narrative.

This is a non-circulating and targeted collection of interest to those wishing to know more about the Pueblo peoples -- their lives, histories, traditions, and culture. At present, we maintain a library of approximately 6,000 non-circulating titles as well as an expansive collection of approximately 190,000 newspaper clippings/vertical file records related to Pueblo and other Native American interests and topics.
