Sobre a minha bibliotecaOur library consists of a mixture of fact and fiction, high and low culture, with a decided slant towards academic study of the humanities and more than a passing nod to the non-gruesome end of detective fiction. If we were separated from our library and could keep only six books, they would (probably) be: Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities; Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose; Herodotus' Histories, vols. One and Two (in the original Greek, to keep the brain working); E.J. Hobsbawm's The Age of Extremes; Tove Jansson's Moominland Midwinter; and W.G. Sebald's Austerlitz. Which leaves out so many favourites that we can only hope that we may never be forced to make this terrible choice ...
