Zombies and an evil and conflicted witch (1), Santa is sad because it's the day after Christmas and no one needs him anymore. Even a trip to the beach won't cheer him up. He stays unhappy until he gets his first gift wish of the new year. Gobi isn't really and exchange student (1), to believe they are vastly superior to all other beings and that they deserve to rule. Prince Khemri finds he is far from the one and only prince on the day he ascends to princehood. The minute he becomes a full prince (1), and he finds it hard to move all the time. And he learns that their new town also hosts a superhero (1), A funny story about the 12 animals chosen by an ancient Chinese emperor to represent the 12 years of the Chinese Zodiac. The animals are tasked with racing across a river (1), fun (1), who just happens to be the daughter of Captain Justice. (1), it is Joshua to the rescue with his new friend Sophie (1), Captain Justice. But when a villain more villainous than Joshua's famous parents kidnaps both them and Captain Justice (1), his parents all time enemy (1), Funny. Very well written and a great twist on the superhero genre. Joshua's parents are supervillains (1), she is an assassin. Perry doesn't find her (1), his first mate is strangely attracted to it. Then the ship is attacked and taken over by a murder of crows. (1), is his latest piece. Junco (1), extra large and snatched from the paws of a racoon (1), and has a special room on the ship for his collection. A new egg (1), flying a reed and twig sky boat. He loves eggs (1), Blue Jay is a fearsome but fair pirate (1), but she finds him. And it's back in the soup again for Perry as the bullets start to fly. (1), there is an assassination attempt on his life. He rapidly learns that princes do little other than fight each other in an attempt to improve their power and wealth. As Prince Khemri joins the other princes in the Empire (1), though at first he believes he is the only prince. This is part of the training and conditioning that Princes receive (1), the Emperor (1), evil father (1), steals (1), Listener (1), cutting down trees (1), Palestine and Israel (1), abstract artist (1), Moxie (1), beedle (1), Toppling is a fantastic book about a fifth grade boy (1), great premise (1), monuments men (1), well water (1), telekinetic powers (1), brother at war (1), Itlay (1), alternate plane (1), who loves creating and toppling domino stacks. But just like his dominos (1), which number one million. Khemri is one of the one million (1), Kizzy bares her soul and her longing for a better life (1), populated mostly by humans descended from old earth. This massive empire is rules by a organization of Princes (1), many millions of which are inhabited worlds (1), The world of the Empire includes 17 million systems (1), I began to lose interest just because it kept on going and going. (1), but is just a bit unbelievable in Kizzy's unwavering strength of character. It is also too long (1), always accompanied by her beloved dog. This book has excellent bones (1), who supports and encourages her (1), John’s life takes a difficult turn and begins to topple when his best friend develops cancer and has to leave school for treatment. The book utilizes a poetic format where each word counts (1), from Kizzy Ann to her new white teacher (1), with strength and honesty. Written letter style (1), including racism and attending the white school (1), Kizzy Ann is an intriguing and engaging character. Though horribly disfigured by a scythe in a farm accident she faces life's challenges (1), so may appeal to reluctant readers and those intimidated by longer books. The story is engrossing enough that I didn’t want to put it down. I highly recommend the book. (1), which makes reading the book a pleasant aesthetic experience. The book is quite short as well (1), though there is no rhyming scheme. Because of this the pages have lots of white space and the pencil drawings are charming (1), murdered dead do not stay dead (1)
