Sobre Minha Biblioteca
My library (when its catalogue will be available online) will reflect my interest in the Catholic faith, in Church history, in various branches of secular history, and in English literature, especially Jane Austen.

I have a particular fondness for the varied writings of John Henry Cardinal Newman (1801-91). He wrote many theological and devotional works both in his time as an Anglican and later as a Catholic. However, he was also an author of fiction, poetry, historical sketches, an enormous amount of letters, and a renowned autobiography, his "Apologia pro Vita Sua."

The choice of my username, "Catholicus," is an homage to Newman, as it was a pseudonym he used in many of his "Tracts for the Times" that he wrote as a leader in the Oxford Movement in the Church of England in the 1830s.

It is my hope that my library of his works will increase in the future. Until then, all of his works can be accessed online at www.newmanreader.org.
