Sobre Minha Biblioteca

My library began in the mid 1960s with a handful of books on artists - primarily Picasso, Cubism, and a few catalogues from museum exhibitions - that became a lifelong companion and mirror of my professional career as a curator and my evolving passions across art history. Built as a professional reference library to inform my work on 20th century American and European art, the library grew to incorporate Latin America artists and movements, sections for Feminism, Black artists, gay artists, and mediums like photography, drawing and graphic arts. The close to 8000 books that followed me into retirement are a constant source of inspiration and surprise as I work through consulting jobs or undertake a dive into an artist or movement for pleasure. New books come into the the corpus weekly as new research is published or I find a missing link online or in the independent bookshops that are one feature of my rounds and travel here and abroad.
